frequently asked questions

q: how long should i book you for?

when you inquire, i always schedule a call to chat about your options. every wedding is unique and every couple has things they value more than others in terms of moments they want captured. i will help you figure out the perfect amount of coverage for you.

however, the average for my couples is 10 hours and that can usually cover getting ready through send-off.

frequently asked questions

q: do you offer a second shooter and do we really need one?

a second shooter is always included in my wedding packages and here's why:

Having a second shooter helps alleviate any timeline pressure and makes sure that you get all the angles, emotions, moments, etc. of your wedding day captured. i have a team of second shooters that i use that are amazing and can't wait to make your day a dream.

frequently asked questions

q: i don't know how to pose - what do i do with my hands?

long winded answer but stay with me:

when it comes to your engagement session, i work my ass off to make sure that the session makes sense for you, your relationship, your love language, your story, etc. I do this for several reasons:

1. i don't want your photos to look like some random couple's photos on pinterest.
2. you are unique and deserve to be treated as such.
3. because it's iconic...and i love to do iconic shit.

i want you to treat your session like it's a date night and i'm not even there. are you worried about what you're doing with your hands when you're just vibing with your partner on a random tuesday? no.

Will i pose you? sometimes. will i prompt you? definitely. will i make sure you look authentic? Absolutely.

as far as your wedding day goes, 90% of the time i am capturing moments as they happen with little to no prompting. i don't want you to look back at your photos and realize it was a glorified photoshoot. when it comes to your individual, couple and family portraits - i will make sure that you all look stellar. i got you.

frequently asked questions

q: how would you describe your photography style?

Nostalgic. heartfelt. intimate.

i strive for a documentary meets editorial approach during your engagement session and your wedding day while utilizing a mix of digital, film and polaroid.

during your engagement session, i will prompt you or give you an activity to do so that the photos are as authentic as possible.

during your wedding day, i try and stay out of the way as much as possible. i want you to look through your wedding gallery and it feel like a movie - not a glorified photoshoot. Grandma's tears. your nephew sneaking your dog some cake. your sister crying even though she said she wouldn't.

however... I say that i am documentary meets editorial for a reason. if you want to pop off during your portraits on wedding day, i got you. let's create art.

my editing style: true-to-color and lively

When you inquire, you will get the link to my normal wedding price guide. if the packages aren't giving you exactly what you need, that's something we can talk over during your consultation call. I will work with you to determine what your needs are and build a custom package based on those needs.

Three-day indian wedding? I got you.
a whole wedding weekend in tulum? i got you.

frequently asked questions

q: will you edit my body?

one of my core values is body positivity, so i won't edit you to look smaller, bigger, etc.

however...

I always edit things out that are temporary. A huge pimple popped up the morning of your wedding? don't stress. your makeup settled into your face throughout the day and highlights your frown lines and wrinkles? i got you. you have a scar from your dumb ass brother when you were kids that you're self-conscious about? done deal.

i get it. i have the worst double-chin when i am laughing my ass off...but those are my husbands favorite photos of me. i strive to stay as authentic as possible but i will keep in mind anything that you're self-conscious about when posing during portraits.

frequently asked questions

q: will i have full ownership of my photos?

yes!

but with a caveat. the literal only thing you can't do is sell your photos (which no one has ever done or asked to do). you're free to print, share, submit them to magazines, etc. I only ask that you credit me wherever possible:

tagging me on social media
giving credit when submitting to publications
etc.

now if you do want to sell your photos, we can talk about transferring copyright ownership.

my business is insured and i am happy to provide proof of insurance to any vendors or venues who request it.

abso-fucking-lutely!

i have worked with some amazing vendors over the years and will send a full list of preferred vendors alongside your wedding proposal. all of the vendors provided are lgbtqia plus safe and amazing humans.

no seriously. please.

as long as your engagement session location or wedding venue allows it, i'm all in. if having your dog included in your engagement photos is a must, i will help you find a location that's perfect for everyone.
